Following up on a very successful first full day of racing in Mexico during Friday’s stages, Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino hit Saturday’s roads with the same mindset as Friday: run smart and conservative. That plan paid off, when the Hoonigan Racing Division duo moved into 6th overall in the rally and stayed there for the entirety of the day.

Over the course of Saturday, Block consistently put down top-10 stage times and held off the field behind him as the day wore on.

“I’m stoked with how today went for us,” said Block. “Running in 6th overall right now is the highest in the ranks I’ve ever been during a WRC rally, so I’m really pleased with how this race is going for us. These are some of my favorite stage roads in the world and they’ve been treating me well this year. Hopefully tomorrow’s another great day of racing and we can finish with our best-ever placement.”
