Entering into the fifth round of the 2013 Rally America Championship, New England Forest Rally, Hoonigan Racing Division’s Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino headed out into the woods of Maine in search of a solid start to their rally. And, they found it, quickly assembling a lead on the entire field and staying there throughout the four stages of Day 1 racing, all while setting a new course record on SS1, Concord Pond, one of the most notorious stages in the entire Rally America Championship.

“I’m feeling good behind the wheel here this weekend,” said Block. “The stages today went well and it was great getting back out on Concord Pond [SS1] again, especially because there’s this one jump that’s probably the biggest of the championship here in the States and it’s a lot of fun in my Fiesta HFHV. Tomorrow’s got some good stages as well and I’m hoping we’re able to continue building on our lead to finish the event strong.”

To see if Block and Gelsomino can expand upon their lead during the final day of racing at New England Forest Rally, be sure to follow along throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
